Fifteen years after we began field testing Faith & Finances, the need for this tool continues to expand. Ministries engaged in community outreach will have noticed that the percentage of American households experiencing financial vulnerability this past year has grown.
By all accounts, the lack of financial literacy of the average American creates additional challenges in a climate of rising costs and income instability. Economic uncertainty over the past year has left countless individuals and families feeling financially stretched beyond their capacity. At the same time, many churches and nonprofits have faced their own fiscal pressures trying to meet increased demands of struggling neighbors with fewer monetary resources at their disposal.
Yet even in the midst of these challenges, God continued to work through over 100 faithful churches, ministries, facilitators, and volunteers across the country last year in the ministry of financial education. As we gathered the data for our annual Faith & Finances year-end review, we were grateful and encouraged by the way God continues to use His people to develop life-giving relationships with their vulnerable neighbors across the U.S.
