TITLE: Social Innovation Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Special Projects
LOCATION: Chalmers Center and Covenant College, Lookout Mountain, GA

POSITION SUMMARY: The Chalmers Center exists to equip the church to walk alongside the poor to break the social, spiritual, and material bonds of poverty. To fulfill that mission, we want to unleash churches to live out the kingdom of God in their own communities through Gospel-centered innovation. The Social Innovation Coordinator serves as a project manager, data collection specialist, and trainer within the newly-forming Social Innovation Team. In this capacity, the coordinator will engage in a wide range of administrative, professional, and personal tasks, including interfacing with a wide range of both internal and external constituencies.

PRIMARY PURPOSE: To support the formation and execution of the Social Innovation Team.


  • Commit to pray and advocate for the poor and the church in light of the mission of the Chalmers Center
  • Participate in the team’s strategic and operational planning meetings
  • Execute a wide range of administrative and professional tasks to assist the team in designing, executing, and evaluating Social Innovation Labs and research projects in both the U.S. and Majority World
  • Manage the process to create or to adapt curricula for audiences of youth and adults
  • Offer training on Social Innovation to a range of constituencies
  • Coordinate communication and logistics within the team and with other internal and external constituencies
  • Participate in the identification, design, and collection of a wide range of data from our internal and external constituencies for analysis
  • Provide technical knowledge and skills from community development, economics, or related fields
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

  • Adherence to the Lausanne Covenant, a statement of Christian belief
  • Active involvement in a local church
  • Enjoys working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Degree in community development, economics, or related field
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to quickly develop prototype curricula to test within our Social Innovation Labs
  • Ability to multitask and organize
  • High attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in multicultural settings
  • Ability to travel up to 5% of working time
